The Editorial Board is responsible for the collection, validation, analysis, and presentation of data from individual participating cancer registries. The Editors evaluate data quality and decide which data are to be published and to what extent, according to objective criteria they develop. In addition, they raise comments on features of the data in relation to the characterization of the registry and the registration methods. If necessary, they prepare a commentary on individual datasets. Finally, they design the methods of data presentation and the content of the publication in general.
The communication between the Editors and the participants is mediated by the project coordinator at IARC, although direct contacts are also possible.
